Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 11 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren celebrated his 49th birthday with the party workers at his residence in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Visuals show a huge celebration outside his house being carried on with dhols and musical instruments on Saturday.
Soren was seen cutting a cake and distributing it among party workers.
Celebrating his birthday, he also remembered the mark he received in jail and termed it as a “current challenge of our democracy”.
Taking it to a social media post on X, Hemant Soren wrote, “Today, on the occasion of my birthday, the memory of the past one year is etched in my mind – that is the prisoner’s mark – which was put on me when I was released from jail. This mark is not only a symbol of mine, but also of the current challenges of our democracy.”
He further stated that he was kept in jail for 150 days without any proof or crime.
The post added, “When an elected Chief Minister can be put in jail for 150 days without any proof, without any complaint, without any crime, then what will they do with the common tribals/Dalits/exploited people – I don’t need to say this.”
Adding to it, Soren iterated that he will fight for the rights of every oppressed, deprived, Dalit, backwards, tribal, Indigenous person and will raise his voice for every person/community that has been suppressed, that has been denied justice.
“Therefore, today I am even more determined and strengthen my resolve to fight for the rights of every oppressed, deprived, Dalit, backward, tribal, indigenous person. I will raise my voice for every person/community that has been suppressed, that has been denied justice, that is being persecuted on the basis of its colour, community, food habits, clothing. We have to unite and build a society where the law is equal for all, where there is no misuse of power. Yes, this path will not be easy. We will have to face many challenges. But I am confident that together we can overcome these challenges. Because our country’s unity and diversity is our strength,” the tweet added.
He further expressed his gratitude towards everybody who wished him on his birthday and wrote, “Once again, thank you all for your love and the prayers, blessings and affection you are giving me today.” (ANI)
