Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 27 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut questioned on Sunday whether the Railway Minister was not responsible after 9 passengers were injured following a stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra railway station on Sunday morning.
He alleged that more than 100 lives had been lost in 25 major railway incidents since Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government assumed office for the third term.
“Since Modi government has come into power for the third term and the railway minister has been given the responsibility again, more than 25 major railway accidents have occurred in the country claiming more than 100 lives…”, Sanjay Raut told reporters on Sunday.
He also took a dig at Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
Sanjay Raut added, “You talk about Bullet trains, Metro and high-speed trains and Nitin Gadkari talks about running buses in the air. But, what is the reality on the ground?”
He added, “The way passengers were injured (in the Bandra stampede), isn’t the railway minister responsible for this?…”
At least nine people were injured following a stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra railway station on Sunday morning, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
The stampede occurred due to a rush on platform number 1, where a crowd gathered for the Bandra-Gorakhpur Express at Bandra Terminus station.
Following the incident, the injured passengers have been shifted to the hospital, the BMC further said.
Further details are awaited. (ANI)
