New Delhi [India], December 27 (ANI): Tributes are pouring in for former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday. Leaders remembered him for his vision, humility, integrity, and transformative policies.

In a post on X, General VK Singh said “India mourns the loss of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a visionary leader and celebrated economist who shaped the nation’s economic reforms. His legacy will live on in India’s history. Our heartfelt condolences to his family. Om Shanti.”
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also expressed his sorrow over Manmohan Singh’s demise, saying that his leadership, humility, and dedication will always be remembered.
“Saddened by the loss of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Ji. His leadership, humility, and dedication will always be remembered. Om Shanti,” Ashwini Vaishnaw on X.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu described Singh’s demise as a significant loss to the nation.
“Deeply saddened by former Prime Minister and renowned economist, Shri Manmohan Singh Ji’s demise. An intellectual statesman, Dr Singh embodied humility, wisdom, and integrity. From his economic reforms in 1991 as Finance Minister to his leadership as Prime Minister, he served the nation tirelessly and uplifted millions. His passing is a great loss to the nation. My heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones and admirers.” Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu said on X.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed sadness over Manmohan Singh’s demise and remembered him for his simplicity, humility, and probity.
“Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji was an embodiment of simplicity, humility and probity. He was among those rarest breed of politicians who served the country with distinction in several capacities. A scholar and a statesman, his policies left a long-standing impact on India’s developmental landscape. Saddened by his demise. Sincere condolences to his family in this hour of grief,” Pradhan said on X.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal offered his condolences and said that Singh’s passing creates a void in the political sphere.
“Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji embodied the spirit of humility, scholarship and played a key role in India’s economic resurgence in a difficult period. His policies for the welfare of the people were far-reaching and he remains a significant figure in the nation’s public life. His passing away leaves a void in our political sphere and I offer my deepest condolences to his family and well-wishers. May his soul find eternal peace. Om Shanti,” Sonowal said on X.
Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai described the loss as “tragic” and offered his condolences to Singh’s family.
“The news of the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is extremely sad. I pray to God to grant peace to his soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss,” Nityanand Rai said on X.
Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92 due to age-related medical conditions, AIIMS informed.
Manmohan Singh, born in Punjab in 1932, served two terms as Prime Minister of India- from 2004 to 2014. He took the oath of office for the first time in 2004 after Congress won the 2004 Lok Sabha election against Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA. Singh served his second term from 2009 to 2014. He was then succeeded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. (ANI)
