New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, stating that the people of Delhi would not fall into his trap.
“Janta ne Arvind Kejriwal se tauba karne ki kasam kha li hai. No matter what he says, the people of Delhi are not going to fall into his trap,” Yadav told ANI.
Taking a dig at Kejriwal, he further said that the people of Delhi can’t trust a Chief Minister and his cabinet minister that go to jail. It has become clear that BJP would win the assembly elections in the national capital.
“The people of Delhi have seen both the parties, Congress and AAP for 25 years. After the third term of the Modi Government, it has become clear that the BJP is going to win the Assembly elections in Delhi…The CM and Ministers of the government go to jail, how can people trust them?” Yadav remarked.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday lashed out at AAP, saying that the ruling party in Delhi excels in spreading “Mayajaal” and no other party in the country can compete with them over it.
“Be it AAP or Congress, you have seen the workings of governments from both parties. You know that AAP excels in spreading Mayajaal (or deceiving). No party in the country can compete with it,” Singh said addressing a public rally in Chandni Chowk.
Highlighting assembly elections in Delhi remains crucial, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that the BJP wants to see development in the national capital at the same pace as the rest of India.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday refuted claims made by AAP and assured that it is the guarantee of the BJP that not a single slum in Delhi will be demolished and that the welfare schemes for the public will not be stopped.
Addressing a public rally in Delhi’s RK Puram, the Prime Minister highlighted that for those living in slums in the national capital, the BJP has guaranteed nutritious meals at just Rs five only.
“A welfare board will be set up for auto drivers and domestic workers, providing them with insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh. The BJP government will also assist with children’s school fees. I give another guarantee: these AAP-Da people are spreading falsehoods, but not a single slum in Delhi will be demolished. The welfare schemes for the public in Delhi will not be stopped,” PM Modi asserted.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 5, while counting of votes will be held on February 8. (ANI)
