New Delhi [India], February 1 (ANI): Union Minister Ramdas Athawle on Saturday sharply criticised the opposition’s statements on the Union budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, stating that their perspective is “useless.” He asserted that the budget had taken into account all sections of society and would serve to boost the economy.
Speaking to ANI, Athawale said “The opposition says that the budget is useless, but their perspective is only useless… this budget will boost the economy, all sections have been considered in this budget…”
He further added that states like Bihar and Maharashtra would benefit from the provisions included in the budget.
“Bihar has been given new provisions as it is a huge state. Maharashtra has also been given good provisions for various departments. The relief for the income tax is also a great decision…,” he added.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh also defended the budget, highlighting the focus on four key sectors — women, poor people, youth and farmers had been included in the budget.
Further, he said that the budget was an inclusive one for the whole society.
“PM Narendra Modi focussed on 4 sectors- women, poor people, youth, and farmers. All four sectors have been covered in the budget… Whichever angle you look at it from, it is an inclusive budget for the whole society… If the PM talked about a food processing training centre for the people of Purvanchal, then what was wrong with that?” Singh said speaking to ANI.
Further, Singh said that the hatred from Congress and opposition was just because of the flaws in their mentality.
“This hatred is because of a flaw in the mentality of the Congress and opposition. Do they (the opposition) hate the people of Bihar? If PM Modi talked about developing ITI what is there to hate?” Singh questioned.
In her budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced several sops for Bihar where assembly polls are due towards the end of this year.
She announced that Greenfield airports will be felicitated in Bihar in addition to the expansion of the capacity of the Patna Airport and a brownfield airport in Bihta.
Sitharaman said, “Greenfield airports will be felicitated in Bihar to meet the future needs of the state. These will be in addition to the expansion of the capacity of Patna airport and a brownfield airport in Bihta.”
The budget 2025-26 was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Saturday. (ANI)
