“Not received any proposal”: Shivraj Singh Chouhan on CM Atishi’s concerns – World News Network

Shirdi (Maharashtra) [India], January 2 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has responded to Delhi CM Atishi’s concerns regarding Delhi farmers’ lack of access to central government schemes.
In a statement to media, Chouhan clarified that the central government was ready to provide benefits to the farmers, but the Delhi government had failed to submit the necessary proposals for the schemes.
Chouhan said that during meetings with Delhi farmers, they had expressed their disappointment at not receiving benefits from the central schemes.
“Farmers from Delhi had met me and stated that they are not getting the benefit of various Central schemes. I have mentioned in my letter that the Central government is ready to give the benefit of the schemes to the farmers,” he said.
He further told the media that the central government “had not received any proposals” from the Delhi government, which was the reason farmers in the capital could not take advantage of these schemes.
The Union Minister pointed out that the lack of proposals from the Delhi government had created a barrier for the farmers. “Because proposals for schemes meant for farmers did not come from the Delhi govt, the farmers could not benefit… We have not received any proposal from the Delhi government for the same and that is why the farmers of Delhi couldn’t reap the benefits of the schemes,” he said.
“The central and state governments should work for the benefits of the farmers,” he added, highlighting the need for joint efforts to improve the conditions and welfare of farmers in Delhi and across the country.
The Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan had written a letter to CM Atishi, accusing the AAP government in Delhi of blocking the Centre’s welfare schemes for farmers in Delhi and calling their policies “anti-agriculture” and “anti-farmer.”
The letter dated January 1 read, “I am writing this letter to you with great sorrow. You have never taken appropriate decisions in the interest of farmers in Delhi. The farmer-friendly schemes of the Central Government have also been prevented from being implemented in Delhi by your government. There is no sympathy for the farmers in your government.”
“Today, the farmer brothers and sisters of Delhi are upset and worried. Due to the non-implementation of many farmer welfare schemes of the Center by the Delhi Government, the farmer brothers and sisters are being deprived of the benefits of these schemes. I had earlier also written a letter to you and informed you about the problems of the farmers of Delhi, but it is a matter of concern that your government has not resolved these problems,” it added.
Reacting to the allegations Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party saying that the condition of farmers has never been “as bad as” it was during BJP’s rule, according to a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s office. Sharpening her attack, she further alleged that the “BJP talking about farmers is like Dawood preaching on non-violence.” (ANI)
