The CPRO of Northeast Railway also informed that train operations will start on the upline soon.
“The coaches that derailed on the down line have been removed… Restoration work is going on at a fast pace. More than 800 workers are working there. Many machines are also working there. Train operations will start on the up-line soon. Three people have died in the accident. We are continuously diverting trains,” he added.
Meanwhile, Divisional Railway Manager of North-Eastern Railway Aditya Kumar said that around 800 railway personnel carried out the restoration work after the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in Gonda.
“Around 800 railway personnel are carrying out restoration work and the work is likely to be completed by this evening. Trains are running on diverted routes. The upline will be repaired soon and trains will start arriving on it,” said Aditya Kumar.
