Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], July 19 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that a decision was taken to increase the honorarium of the daily wagers from Rs. 375 to Rs. 400, and the process of appointing 357 conductors had been completed.
Deputy CM Agnihotri while chairing a meeting of the Board of Directors of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) here on Friday, held a detailed discussion on reducing the expenditure and increasing the revenue of the corporation.
Deputy CM Agnihotri said, “A decision has been taken in the meeting to increase the honorarium of the Daily wagers from Rs. 375 to Rs. 400, adding that the process of appointing 357 conductors has also been completed, and soon they will be providing their services.”
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that HRTC was going to complete 50 years of its existence, and it was a matter of pride that the corporation’s buses were providing services to 70 lakh people in the state.
Mukesh Agnihotri announced that soon the HRTC will purchase 297 electric vehicles. “The tenders will be floated soon, and besides, 24 old Volvo buses will be replaced with new ones. The discount scheme on bus fares will continue as before,” he said.
He said that 100 Tempo travelers would be purchased and introduced on the specific routes to ensure a comfortable journey for the commuters. Besides 250 diesel buses will be purchased in the near future, he remarked.
The Board of Directors (BoD) thanked the state government for providing adequate grant and said that the corporation was committed to provide salaries and pensions to its employees and since for the last five months the salaries were being paid well in time.
The Managing Director of HRTC, Rohan Chand Thakur conducted the meeting and assured that the corporation’s functioning will be improved in the coming time, providing better services to the people and increasing the revenue of the corporation.
Members Board of Directors, Ranjit Singh Rana, Ram Gopal Sharma, Mohinder Sandhu, Pradeep Surya, Nishant Thakur, and Manmohan Katoch, Managing Director D.C. Negi, Special Secretary Finance Vinay Kumar were also present on the occasion amongst others. (ANI)
